Hello again,
It’s Emma, Jonathan’s sister and while Jonathan is busy at a Wedding fair at the Quorn Grange, he has asked me to guest write his blog. When I asked him what I should write about, Jonathan said “oh I don’t know, maybe dogs.” So, I am going to run with that as an idea.
If people know anything about the Purday family, they will know that we are a family of dog lovers, especially the three dogs Tilly, Cleo and now Toby. To us dogs are very important to us as they are family even though they are only a small part of our lives.
Tilly
Our Tilly dog was the first puppy that entered our lives, and we fell in love with her from the day we picked her up. So, before we had Tilly, Jonathan and I kept on asking for a dog and every time dad would have said no, then one day we saw dad looking for a dog online, we jumped and seized the opportunity. We kept on going around in circles discussing the best breed and decided on a Sprocker (a Springer and Cocker cross) Spaniel. I think some people would have called us crazy for having such a lively breed, but we coped.
In the litter there was only three puppies, Tilly and her two little sisters and she was the first puppy to come and say hello to us. I think she knew that she was ours since she clapped her soft brown eyes on us and we took her away with us straight away. Little did we know the amount of fun we were going to have with her.
She had the best personality and there wasn’t a day that went by where she brought a smile to our face or made us laugh. She was one very happy little doggy and she never stopped wagging her little tail.
Tilly meant the world to me and my family and unfortunately early in September we had to say goodbye to Tilly. As much as we all miss her and still cry over the loss of Tilly, I know that we have given her the best life as she was almost 16 years old.
Thank you for everything and rest in peace little lady!

Cleo
Fans of the blog will be aware of Cleo and her amazing story. But if you are unsure, Cleo started her life in Romania roaming the streets and looking after herself. Before she made the adventure over to England, Cleo was found sitting in a kill shelter, where if she hadn't been rescued, she would have been killed.
After travelling miles and miles to be with Jonathan and Rachel, she has certainly landed safely on her little paws. From the first day we met her, she was a very timid and shy little girl. Now with the love and affection she deserves she has grown in confidence and has developed a brilliant personality.
She certainly has made Jonathan and Rachel a lovely dog, and I am proud to call her my little niece dog.
Toby
Say hello to our new bundle of joy Toby who is a Cocker Spaniel, he has just joined our household yesterday and certainly made an impression already. He is picking up everything in sight and seems to love playing with both leaves and feathers.
Without Tilly, the house was so quiet, and we needed a little soul to make us happy again. He has HUGE paws to fill as he is following the Paw Steps of Tilly. But we never want him to replace Tilly, we just wanted another dog to love as much as we did with her.
However, I think he will fit in just fine as he seems easy to train and inquisitive, just within a day he has already learned how to sit.
Welcome to the family Toby!
Jonathan will be back next week and as always.
Peace, Love, Paws and Photos.
Emma X
