This week, we've officially kicked off what is set to be an absolutely mental busy 2023 with our very first wedding of the year! What a way to kick things off though, with the fabulous Jonathon and Terry!
It felt amazing to be out at a wedding again, and a joy to bask in the happiness of such a fantastic couple.
Making sure a couple get what they want from their wedding photography is at the heart of what I do, so we made sure to have a couple of zoom calls in the run-up to the big day to discuss how their plans are going and any shots they really wanted to capture from their wedding. We have a good chat about what group shots the couple both want, and any example pictures online they both might have seen that match the style of photos they're looking for.
Jonathon and Terry had both done exactly that and had sent over some fantastic examples, which I added straight to their file to capture on the big day, so when myself and Rachel arrived, we'd got all the inspiration we needed to get some fantastic shots.
They'd both chosen Glenfield Registry office for their ceremony, which is always one of my favourites. Inherently registry offices are sometimes tucked away in the corner of a very formal council building, but whilst Glenfield is adjacent to council building, it's set nicely in its own grounds, which has some nice woodland areas and spots that make for some fantastic photos.
The stage was set, the guests were ready, and myself and Rachel were positioned at either end of the room ready to capture their ceremony, which was packed full of smiles and emotions. They were both clearly very nervous, but they nailed the I do's and gave me some fantastic opportunities for photos.
Once we'd got the ceremony out of the way, we headed straight out with the newlyweds and their guests for everyone's favourite, the confetti shot, and the group shots Terry and Jonathon had requested ahead of the day itself.
It was without a doubt on the chilly side, so we made sure we ran through the group shots nice and quickly so we could get straight on with a few of just the happy couple, looking awesome!
Had such a wicked time with Jonathon and Terry, and it was an honour as always to be asked to capture their day. They're a brilliant match for each other, and I have absolutely no doubt at all they'll share a long and happy marriage!
