Kirstie and Anthony...

Updated: Jan 20

Well, sports fans, another Sunday has rolled around fairly quickly, leaves have officially changed colour, and we're well and truly in autumn now.

As I've mentioned in a blog before though, autumn is an underrated season for a wedding. It's not too hot, not too cold, and you get some fantastic colours that really pop when it comes to wedding photos.

Amongst the sea of fallen leaves, it was a pleasure to attend the wedding of Kirstie and Anthony yesterday in Newcastle under Lyme, (just outside Stoke).

I think there's a certain amount of distrust with UK weather, and yesterday was no different, as all forecasts pointed to a dull and miserable day with the onset of rain set to rear its ugly head smack bang in the middle of the day. Nevertheless, though, we'd packed a total of 4 umbrellas, so if the heavens did decide to open, I can hand on heart say we were 110% prepared.

There was absolutely no reason to fret in the slightest though, as Anthony and Kirstie were treated to some incredible bright blue skies, with that awesome hazy autumn glow, which looks just incredible in photos.

I always love visiting new venues, and Kirstie and Anthony's choice didn't disappoint in the slightest. Slaters Country Inn is a really stunning venue. It's the kind of place, where no matter which direction you look, you can tell that there's been real thought put into everything. It's clean, polished to perfection, and one of these venues that, just completely get what couples want from their wedding day.

Kirstie had shared lots of inspiration when it came to bridal prep, so it was fantastic to put some of those ideas into action and get some brilliant shots of the bridal party getting ready for the main event. It's always a very hectic lead-up to the ceremony, but Kirstie and the rest of the bridal party were a breeze to photograph.

Slaters Country Inn, is the gift that keeps giving, and the actual ceremony room itself, was stunningly put together in the courtyard of the venue. The shots we got of a very nervous Anthony patiently waiting with their guests were just in the perfect setting.

As is always the case, after the vows were complete, we launched straight into the confetti shot and the group photos the couple had requested. Julie, the venue's wedding organiser was a huge help, in rounding up the guests and making sure we wrapped things up in a timely manner so everyone could head into the bar for drinks.

Whilst the wedding party departed to the bar, we managed to tear Kirstie and Anthony away from the action for just a few minutes so we could get some more of the shots Kirstie had included on her Pinterest board. They both threw themselves into some of the poses we'd lined up, so top marks to them both.

Then it was onto everyone's favourite candid shots, which really do capture the essence of the day, and the wedding party just genuinely enjoying themselves. We had no problems skirting around the edges and photographing some real magical moments.

It always amazes me how quickly our time with couples goes, so as Kirstie and Anthony sat down for their wedding breakfast with their guests, it was time for us to leave them to enjoy the rest of their day.

I really hope they both had an incredible wedding day, and I'm going to waste no time getting to work on their photos, which I'm hoping they'll love just as much as we do!

Peace, Love and Photos.
