Yesterday, myself and Rachel had the absolute pleasure of heading over to West Bromwich, to photograph the wedding of the fantastic Rebecca and Rian.
I think we can all agree, that the weather was absolutely spot on yesterday. Not too hot, not too cold. and just the kind of weather that is the epitome of perfection when it comes to a wedding day.
I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I'm always early for absolutely everything. It drives Rachel nuts, and yesterday was definitely no different, as we arrived WELL ahead of time! So, it was no surprise when we were there ready and waiting to meet Rian and the rest of the wedding party as they gradually arrived to witness them both tying the knot.
Just before any ceremony, Rian was ushered away for his post-wedding interrogation with the registrar, whilst we took the opportunity to scope out the room, choose our positions and get a few quick snaps just as the guests were meandering their way into their seats poised for Rebeccas imminent arrival.
The stage was set, the guests were all seated, and Rian was stood at the top of the room, looking suitably nervous, which is when I like to crack a couple of quick jokes, just to get a few nervous laughs, which always make incredible candid photos.
We'd managed to grab a quick chat with the registrar beforehand, and she'd kindly given us free rein to move about as much as we wanted, so we knew we were going to get some awesome photos and cover all the important angles.
Whenever we get a nice chilled registrar, you know the ceremony is going to be good, and our registrar at the West Bromwich Registry office was just the kind you wanted. Nice, relaxed, and put so much personality into her reading, which really helped break down the nerves for the couple and the 2 young lads they had as ring bearers, who by the way, did a sterling job!
As the ceremony finished, the guests filed out, and headed down to the grounds ready for photos, the first of which was everyone's favourite, the confetti shot!
Inherently, whenever we do a confetti shot, we're expecting grandparents armed with fists full of tissue paper that rain down gradually over the newlyweds, Rebecca and Rian's wedding was a little different though, as their guests had elected for confetti cannons!
Honestly, all the guests were suitably armed with a range of party pyrotechnics, with one lad wielding a cannon that can only be described as a confetti bazooka! For a moment I was worried Rian and Rebecca would need to be in full army uniform to protect them both from the fountain of foil and tissue, but I was relieved to see they'd made it through the ordeal without any PTSD or shrapnel wounds.
Then it was onto the group shots, where we had all the guests nicely lined up in an orderly fashion so we didn't cause too much disruption and kept the guests too long from the rest of the day's celebrations.
We were just booked for the ceremony for this one, but all in all, it was a fantastic wedding to be a part of. Both Rian and Rebecca are a fantastic couple, and it was a pleasure to photograph their wedding and meet all of their guests, who were equally just as much of a joy to photograph. I can't wait to edit their photos!
Next Sunday is set for the wedding of Melvin and Sasina, who are another amazing couple whose wedding I can't wait to attend, but as it's a Sunday wedding, expect their blog in just a couple of weeks! I know their wedding is definitely going to be an occasion and a half!
Peace, Love and Photos.
