Let's get back up to speed...

Updated: Jan 20

Well, I'm back, after an unexpected week off from blogging as myself and Rachel were at the wedding fayre at Quorn Grange last Sunday. Emma gets a HUGE thank you once again, for jumping in at a moment's notice and putting together a blog about our furry members of the family.

Nevertheless, I wanted to have a bit of a catch-up, and get back up to speed by using this week's blog to tell you all what we've been up to because we've been very busy!!

As some of you may know, we've been nominated for a Wedding Industry Award, which we're absolutely thrilled to be a part of. We've been hard at work speaking with lots of our couples from the last year to ask them kindly to put a vote in, and honestly, I couldn't believe how eager everyone was to pop a vote in for us!

Voting has now closed, and I'm busy putting the final touches on my profile to see how far I can get. With any luck, in a month or so, it'd be great to be practising my acceptance speech! Either way, a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE thank you to everyone that has kindly taken the time out to pop a vote in for me, I know filling out any kind of online form is a task in itself, and it means the world that so many of you were happy to help!

Whilst I've not been out attending any weddings this week, that doesn't mean the work has stopped, as September/October are hugely busy months, as it's generally when we set about filling up our diary for the coming years ahead and I get to speak to lots of new and exciting couples! It's looking like I'm going to be very busy, and I'm absolutely thrilled that so many people have booked with me to capture their special day.

What else?

Well, I've had a birthday! 21 again, can you believe it? Who am I kidding?! I turned 34 on Monday and I couldn't be less pleased about it. I think in my head, I'm still 18, but the reality is I'm spotting more grey hairs, my knees make a horrible sound when I stand up, and hangovers hurt a hell of a lot more and last a hell of a lot longer than they used to.

All jokes aside, I was truly spoilt, and Rachel even had a week off to spend some time with me for my birthday. She has unfortunately been poorly this week, but she managed to drag herself out of bed on Tuesday to take me out for a nice meal which I really really appreciated.

Last weekend's readers may also notice we had a new addition to the clan too! We welcomed a brand new puppy to the family in the shape of Toby the little Cocker spaniel. He'll be living in Coalville with my mum, dad and sister, but he's very much a dog for the whole family. Despite him getting into all sorts of trouble, running and falling over everywhere, he's slotted right in and has developed a certain fondness for biting my beard.

And then onto this week!

It's going to be a week of editing this week, with Rachel heading back off to work for her day job, and me, back in the driving seat to catch back up on some editing!

After that, next Saturday we've got the wedding of Kirstie and Anthony, which we can't wait to photograph!

Peace, love and Photo's!
