Reflecting on 2025: an Amazing Year of Weddings with Jonathan David Photography

Grateful, knackered, inspired, and ready for what’s next.
As the year winds down and my inbox finally quietens a bit, it feels like the perfect time to stop, breathe, and look back by reflecting on 2025, which has just flown past. Honestly, this year went by so fast! One minute, it was the first wedding of the season, and the next, I’m realising I’ve eaten far too many mince pies while writing the final blog of the year.
Celebrating Love and Laughter
This year has been full of everything I love about weddings. Proper belly laughs, big emotional moments, and dance floors that got out of hand in the best possible way. I’ve cherished those quiet little moments in between when it all sinks in, and I realise how lucky I am to be doing this job.
I’ve watched couples see each other at the end of the aisle, completely forgetting there’s a room full of guests behind them. I’ve seen mates cry harder than parents. I’ve photographed speeches that brought the house down and others that left the entire room in tears. I’ve stood in fields, manor houses, city venues, barns, churches, and the odd slightly questionable function room, all doing the same thing: telling stories.
The Heart of Weddings
And that’s what this year has reminded me of more than anything. It’s never really about the details. Not the flowers, not the napkins, and certainly not whether the timeline runs ten minutes late. It’s about how it felt. The people you chose to be there, the way the day unfolded, and the moments you didn’t plan that end up meaning the most.
I’ve also been reminded, time and time again, that the best photos happen when people let go a bit. When couples trust the day, stop worrying about what they should be doing, and just enjoy what’s happening. Those are the weddings that stay with me—the ones where nothing is forced, and everything feels real.
Reflecting on 2025 & a heartfelt thank you
To every couple who trusted me this year, thank you. Thank you for letting me into something so personal. Thank you for being yourselves in front of my camera. Thank you for the laughter, the chaos, the kindness, and the occasional “oh god, is this normal?” chat along the way. It never gets old, and I don’t take it lightly.
To everyone who’s supported the business—shared posts, recommended me to friends, sent kind messages, or quietly followed along—I appreciate you more than you probably realise. This job doesn’t exist without people choosing me, and I’m genuinely grateful for that.
Looking Ahead
As we head into the new year, there’s already so much to look forward to. New venues, new faces, new stories, and plenty more moments that remind me why I love this job as much as I do. If you’re newly engaged over the festive season, congratulations! I can’t wait to hear your plans. And if you’re already booked in for next year, I’ll see you very soon.
So here’s to the year that was—the weddings, the memories, the madness. And here’s to what’s coming next. Thanks for being part of it. Bring on the next chapter!
Wishing you all the happiest of New Years.

I’m so incredibly proud of you. Watching everything you’ve built this year - the graft, the long days, the talent, and the way you care so much about every couple you work with - it honestly inspires me. You’ve captured moments people will treasure for a lifetime, and you’ve done it with so much heart.
Seeing you end the year like this and like every year, reflecting on what you’ve achieved and what’s still to come, just makes me even more excited for your next chapter. I believe in you always. Here’s to everything you’ve already created, and everything you’re about to.
Proud doesn’t even cover it. <3
